On June 3, 2006 Cherry Creek Physical Therapy lost its founder and mentor in a dirt bike accident.

Don was an amazing healer and truly had a gift for helping others who were in pain. In fact, Don spent more than eight years helping others recover from injury and debilitating illness. He himself triumphed over many injuries and knew the road to recovery with a keen sense of determination, compassion and perseverance that was evident to all who ever had the opportunity of working with him in his clinics. Cherry Creek Physical Therapy is open and thriving, and will continue to do so because of his planning and care.

Don was a son, brother, nephew, uncle, husband, godfather and a man of many friends, and he made them all feel like he was their best friend. Don could meet any person on the street and within minutes they were making dinner plans. He had a special way of bringing all of his friends together and making them feel like family. He may have done this since his own family was so far away. As one of his friend’s said “He is at peace, he is now truly the angel we knew he was.”

Don a native to Northern California, graduated from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in 1995, with a Masters in Physical Therapy. He was a traveling therapist for two years all over the country finally planting his roots in Colorado. While working two other jobs, Don’s ambition for physical therapy drove him to start up his own private practice, thus Cherry Creek Physical Therapy was born in 1997.

Some of Don’s passions were to travel, surf and bike. He and Cristina found themselves doing just that. With his wife being a professional cyclist and Don the co-pilot, they made several trips throughout the US, to Europe, South Africa and Panama. In April, Don took an early “retirement” from Cherry Creek Physical Therapy. Don planned to continue remodeling their Victorian style house, traveling with his wife and competing in several up coming bike races. One of his last big bike trips was riding with the guys from Fruita, CO to Moab, UT.

Don lived his life to the fullest no matter where it took him. Gifts in Don’s memory can be made through a donation in his name to the Children’s Hospital or Habitat for Humanity, or any charity – Don was supportive of so many great causes. You will truly be missed, we love you!
